Afrofuturism is commonly defined as science fiction, fantasy, speculative fiction, comics, graphic novels, and particular music that sets Black people and Black culture  as central in the future.

Afrofuturism is also about visualizing a desired future state for Black people, connecting what we know about the present and more importantly the past to connect the dots and reverse engineer our way to a better state of being.
